Our GROW Program
GROW teaches students how to take bare earth and turn it into a thriving Food Forest. Through our classroom and hands-on curriculum, students are growing STEM skills, strengthening community, and learning how to become food secure.
growing food security Across Our State
The GROW Program from Shaome Cooperative connects education with real-world impact. Each participating school transforms underused land into an edible learning landscape — a Food Forest Classroom — where science, math, reading, and art come to life through the power of plants.
Teachers and students work side-by-side to plant, measure, and observe growth over time. Lessons align with Georgia Standards of Excellence, weaving together STEM in the garden with lessons on ecology, sustainability, and food security.
From soil testing to data collection, composting to pollinator tracking, GROW gives students the tools to see themselves as scientists, caretakers, and changemakers — learning not just how to grow food, but how to grow Georgia’s future.
